Dear Friends in Christ –

In one of the parables yesterday, Jesus used the metaphor of seedtime, growing, and harvest to explain that patience and endurance will be necessary as we await the coming of God’s Kingdom. It’s true that Jesus’ ministry, however impressive, was rather small for influence, but it grew into a large movement and is represented on every continent!
If I was going to write my own parable, I might say: “The kingdom of God is like the birth of a child. The signs of new life are there. Some will be rushed to the hospital and other pregnancies seem to last forever. In the end, the mother gives birth and there is new life, love, and joy that ripples through families and communities.” Thank you for sharing in our joy as we welcomed Margaret “Margo” Elizabeth into the world this past week. I will be out of the office this week, but we will gladly welcome visitors to our home to meet Margo; please call or e-mail ahead of time.
