SPECIAL Guest This Sunday – Rev. Jordan Long

Just this morning, I received word from The Rev. Jordan Long, the President of the Lutheran Church of South Sudan. He is in the United States, more specifically, in the Twin Cities. He will be with us at Holy Cross on Sunday. He will speak during our Coffee Hour at 8:45am; and will join us for worship. This is a very exciting opportunity for us to hear about God’s Kingdom among our sisters and brothers of South Sudan.

The Lutheran Church of South Sudan (LCSS) has been in partnership with LCMC and NALC for five years. Through our prayers and financial support, LCSS has shared the Gospel with millions of South Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia and Kenya. They sought refuge in the neighboring countries as a result of a brutal and deadly conflict that claimed 300,000 lives, and has displaced 8 million to neighboring countries and internally. “The LCSS is privileged to proclaim witness to the Gospel amidst this brokenness and despair and we are grateful to brothers and sisters in Christ who have walked with and pray for us during this difficult time,” Pastor Long said.

Please make every effort to join us on Sunday as we welcome Pastor Jordan to our community.

P.S. We will also be collecting school supplies in partnership with Love INC at worship this week. A recommended list of supplies was provided in the eNews on Monday.
