Monday Night Bible Study

Monday Night Bible Study is led by Pastor Culynn and is open to
everyone. We meet in the fellowship hall on Mondays, 7:00
-8:30p.
Beginning September 10, join us for our Fall Bible Study: PRAYER, based
on Norwegian Pastor Ole Hallesby’s classic book by the same title. We will
explore the totality of prayer: The commandment to pray, the challenges
of prayer, the styles of prayer, and the Spirit of prayer. If you wish, you can
follow along by reading Hallesby’s book OR you can simply come for the
Bible study.
LUTHERAN BASICS: Pastor Culynn will lead an image
-based study on
Luther’s key theological ideas. This Lutheran primer/refresher will help us
to understand Luther’s use of the Scripture and how this is experienced in
real life. (October 29
– November 26
)
COLOSSIANS: The Scriptures are not simply information on a page, but
seeks to develop a relationship with the God of the pages. We want our
lives to be tethered to this timeless truth. Jesus is not simply a checkbox
for eternity. He is the supreme and sufficient Savior who flows from the all -powerful and eternal God. All of this will impact every part of our lives,
changing us, and bearing witness to source of our life: God in Christ
Jesus. (January 7
– February 25
)
FAITH IN A NEW AGE: Common sense tells us not to talk about religion,
politics, sex, or money in public. Don’t worry, you won’t have to reveal
deep, dark secrets or your party affiliation. In 538, BC, God’s people
returned to the Promised Land and needed to rebuild their lives, the
Temple, and their reputation among some hostile and pagan neighbors,
As we follow their story in Ezra and Nehemiah, we will discover a faithful
way forward, committed to our faith as well as being good neighbors. (March 4 – April 22)
