This week I was in Bloomington, MN, along with many pastors who are taking in a few days of continuing education at the Augustana District Theological conference. I am so grateful that our congregation is a part of this district who supports pastors and joins congregations together to strengthen the work of the kingdom, in spite of our brokenness and humanness. I am also thankful for a congregation who understands my need to take time to reflect and grow in the task of preaching and pastoral care. This is the gift of the Augustana District.
Holy Cross does the same thing for us: The Spirit gathers us together around God’s Word and in community. We receive Jesus Christ in Word and the Sacraments. We share one another’s joys and sorrows. We support one another in this walk with Jesus to eternity. We need the promise of Jesus now and often. We need a fellow sinner-saints who have been forgiven, so that we continue to grow in Jesus together. What a gift to do this together!
Blessings on your week –
Pastor Culynn
