Dear Friends in Christ –

Yesterday we welcomed seven young people to the Table of the Lord at his invitation. Their families and friends came to encourage, support, and celebrate God’s gift to these young people. It was a wonderful day! These young people are coming into their own…their own joys and challenges, their own sin and meaningful faith experiences. The invitation of Jesus reminds them and us that we are sinners in need of a Savior and his forgiveness. We are his chosen followers who meet Christ in Word and Sacraments. What a joy when the welcome is extended, when others join us at Christ’s feast!

This week, WOW Services make their return to 6:00pm, and give us another opportunity to worship together, hear God’s Word, and share in his Supper. As spring schedules erupt and summer plans begin to fill up our calendars, I want to encourage you to make weekly worship a priority for you and your family. From the beginning of Christian community (and the Jewish synagogue before that), the services of God’s House has been the most vital experience of the faithful. This weekly appointment is an encounter with the Living Lord who sustains our faith with his promises, supports us through the ministry of community, and serves us his very self for the forgiveness of our sin. Simply put, you won’t find such precious gifts anywhere else in the world!

See you in church!
Pastor Culynn
