This morning, Meg, Oliver, Margo, and I are boarding a plane for a trip to Florida with Meg’s family. We are very much looking forward to the fun, rest, and renewal that a trip like this offers. This will be the first time since November 2017 that I will be fully off-duty. During many other times away, I am still on-call for pastoral care emergencies and tending to the ministry and business of the church. As you are aware, the last year has been very busy for our own family and the life of our congregation. It is not surprising that God intended us to observe the Sabbath. Yet, we are always trying to over-commit, over-perform, etc. These trips have allotted uninterrupted family time, an intentionally slower pace, and much needed rest and renewal for body, mind, and soul. I am looking forward to our summer series and our continued ministry together, but for now, we will fly away for rest, fun, celebration, and re-creation!
Blessings on your week,
Pastor Culynn
P.S. Should a pastoral emergency arrive, please call the church office and Wendy will get in touch with the on-call pastor. Also, Pastor Tony Stoutenburg will be with you on Sunday (5/12). He was very well-received in March and I hope you will again provide him a warm welcome.
To prepare for worship on Sunday
(May 12), you are invited to read:
Acts 27:13-28:10.
