Dear Friends in Christ-

Last week, I watched the news from South Dakota and I was on the verge of despair. My hometown was flooding on Wednesday night and Thursday after receiving nearly 7.5 inches of rain. Many other communities receiving more and less. After a long and grueling winter and a delayed planting season, this unusually cool summer and now these extensive fall rains have made it terribly difficult for my farming and ranching family and friends in South Dakota as well us throughout Minnesota.
As I read Abraham and Sarah’s story this past week, I was reminded of our deep need of God’s promise. As they waited and waited, their only hope was that the Lord had made a promise to them. In some ways it was a test for Abraham, but also a test for God. Indeed, God proved himself faithful. As we endure suffering, may we do so with patience. As we await for hope, may we continue to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and the many promises he has made to us. May we remember that there is nothing too marvelous for God!

Trusting the promises with you,
Pastor Culynn
