Yesterday, we began our observance of Holy Week. Palm Sunday is a day of joy and gladness as God visits his people and the Holy City of Jerusalem, just as he did in the days of old and just as he promised. But how quickly the mood changes, leading us to the crucifixion, death, and burial of Christ. Holy Week is the heart of the Gospel. It is the crux of everything the church believes and hopes. The joy of Easter and the power of the resurrection falls flat if we jump from Sunday to Sunday, missing the entire story. I encourage you to make the time, either in-person or online, to gather with family and friends around the Word of God to hear again the story of your salvation and the message of hope.
