In my junior year of college, I saw a production of Godspell that literally transformed my life! Several of my college friends were part of it, and they did such an incredible job telling the story of Saint Matthew’s Gospel, contextualizing the story to our college campus. I have never been so deeply moved as I was by the scene of Christ’s death and resurrection! I went back to my residence hall, fell down on my knees, and asked God for the spirit and the will to tell the story of Jesus with the same fervor and passion, so that anyone who hears it would be converted to the call of Christ!
Last week, I finished another revision of a Bible curriculum that I use with our confirmation students. This is now its fifth version! We use Jensens’ The Essential Bible to get the overarching storyline, and then we dive into various scenes and aspects of the genres to unpack how the Bible continues to speak to us and transform our lives! I could not have allotted this much energy and time to this project without the public call to public ministry. Thank you for affording me this opportunity! I look forward to sharing more about this project in the near future.
With a heart full of gratefulness,
Pastor Culynn
