Our Lenten observance continues tonight with a Soup Supper at 6:00pm and our Midweek Lenten Service at 7:00pm. As we did last year, we will pray and sing together the HOLDEN EVENING PRAYER service. It is a beautiful liturgy and accessible for all abilities of singers. In addition, we will be reflecting on the Lenten hymn, “Ah, Holy Jesus”. Each week, we will examine a verse from this profound hymn through Scripture readings and a brief meditation, as we reflect on the sufferings of Jesus for us.
Lent is a season of the Church, where we grow into our Baptism. That is, we intentionally gather for worship to remember God’s promises for us. We surround ourselves with other believers and share in fellowship. We join with other Christians for prayer, fasting, and acts of love.
