Dear Friends in Christ –

When you look around, you might question Christ’s authority as the Lord of heaven and earth. The never-ending winter…continuing war…illness, sickness, and death on every side. The big societal and global issues distract us from noticing the things closer to home…the personal trials of the devil, the luring chaos of the world, and the very real temptations of sin. Yet, Jesus’ words are true, giving us hope in the midst of tribulation: “Take heart! I have conquered the world!” (John 16:33).
If you have ever doubted the sovereignty of Jesus Christ or questioned the methods of God, it is time to take a closer look. God is not a God far off, distant, and unencumbered with our many loads of care. But in Jesus Christ, he has come very near! And in the coming days, we will see how Christ conquers. He is not a warlord or revolutionary. He chooses to conquer the world with love, willingly subjected to the accusations of humanity and dying upon a Roman cross…all to prove his unconquerable love for you! Beginning this Sunday, this story of love unfolds; and I hope that you’ll be with us for all of it. Come and see as the King of Love conquers all…for you!

The peace of the Lord be with you!
