We believe a specific confession of faith and hope everyone would articulate their faith to others in a particular Lutheran voice.
Mission Statement:
Holy Cross Lutheran Church is a growing family of faith, gathered by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, and that by God’s grace alone we have been saved. Through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we share the message of the Gospel with all people.
Our faith is continuously renewed by engaging education, and creative and dynamic worship and music. With our prayers, energy, abilities, and gifts, we strive to be good caretakers of all that God has given us.
We invite everyone to join with us in family-friendly worship, life-long learning, and open fellowship.
First Communion:
All baptized Christians who believe that Jesus’ body and blood are present in the bread and wine (grape juice) are welcome to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Holy Cross provides First Communion instruction for fifth graders during the Lenten season. Students attend and assist in the services of Holy Week and receive first communion on the Sunday after Easter.
Confirmation:
Students in eighth and ninth grade complete two years of confirmation. Confirmation is an intensive period of learning (Bible and theology) and training to develop habits for life-long membership in the Christian Church. Students may be confirmed in September of their tenth grade year.
Membership:
All are invited to participate in the ministries of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. First-time visitors and guests are always welcome. Friends are those individuals who participate regularly in worship, study, and fellowship with us. Members are those individuals and households who have pledged their commitment to be involved, serve, and contribute the needs of our ministry with their time, gifts, and monetary offerings. New members are welcomed three times a year (typically in October, February, & May). New Member Registration & Info Sheet
