Dear Friends in Christ –

Yesterday, Meg and I were invited to the Maple Lake Elementary where we were recognized for volunteering as Storybook Readers for the elementary school children. Today, I spent the day with Oliver’s entire kindergarten class as a chaperone for their field trip to the Children’s Museum. It got me thinking about vocations.
God has placed us into his creation to serve one another in our daily lives. Vocations are more than our occupation, it is the sum total of our relationships.  At any given time, we are part of a vast web of callings: Spouse, Parent, Child, Sibling, Employee, Neighbor, Volunteer, Community Member, Earthling, etc. You may not be effusive about your Christian faith. Yet, these vocations are avenues where we can share God’s love, put others before ourselves, and daily die to ourselves and rise to live before God.
