Confirmation

During the month of December, our confirmation students began to study
what Luther called The Children’s Creed or the Apostles’ Creed.
Having come to terms with their very real bondage to sin, they now learn
what the Triune God has done for them, namely: Creating, Redeeming,
and Sanctifying them as God’s children.

  • December 7 – God the Creator, who preserves our life, provides for
our needs, and protects us from all danger and harm.
  • December 14 – God the Redeemer, who in the person of Jesus
Christ saved us with his holy and precious blood and his innocent
    suffering and death.
  • January 4 – The Holy Gospel according to Holy Cross Confirmation
Class & The Holy Spirit at Work in the Church and Sacraments (the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins)
  • January 11 – The Holy Spirit for the Future (the resurrection of the
    body and life everlasting)
  • January 18 through February 15 – Students will begin studying the
    Lord’s Prayer

A special thank you to our mentors who have been dutiful in attendance,
learning and growing in their own faith, and are guiding our young people
    in faith-full conversations and prayer.
