The Gospel according to Saint Matthew is intense and complex! If the
Sunday service is going to stick close to one hour, there is no way the
sermon can touch on every nuance and detail of Matthew’s gospel. Writing
for a Jewish audience, Matthew sets out to prove that Jesus is the Jewish
Messiah, the promise of the prophets and the long-awaited King of Israel.
Each week will unpack “The Three Rs of Matthew’s Gospel”:
- References to the Hebrew Bible
- A Different and New Righteousness, not based in the Law, but
through faith - Growing in Relationship to God through Immanuel, God-with-Us in
Christ Jesus!
