Dear Friends in Christ –

During the first Holy Week, we have no account of what Jesus was doing. Likely he spent the day at Bethany in the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, the one whom Jesus raised from the dead. There is one detail revealed to the audience and readers of Matthew’s Gospel: Judas went to the chief priests to arrange an opportunity for betrayal. Then the whole thing was set in motion.
Jesus was already aware of his fate. It was for this reason that he invited his disciples to celebrate the Passover, where he would feed them with his body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. It was for this reason that he forewarned his disciples about the frailty of their faith. It was for this reason that he asked James and John and Peter to keep watch with him in the Garden. But once he’s in the hands of the authorities, Jesus goes, uncomplaining forth. He knows the future and what lies ahead–not just for him–but for the whole world, including you. Jesus knew it was worth it. Come and hear the incredible story of God’s love for you, and how Jesus came to save you from your sins!

Join us for the Great Three Days!
Blessings to you,
Pastor Culynn
