After Easter (and after the snow melted), I planted these Easter lilies into a beautifully manicured garden bed. I kept them watered and weeded around them (until it got to be too often and then gave up). Then, as other plants are showing signs of maturity and harvest time, all of a sudden, these lilies burst forth from the weary and dry ground, and even in the midst of all those weeds.
What a picture of our life of faith. There are seasons when we are really committed to weeding, pruning, and purging. Most of the time, a beloved faith-filled friend comes along to nourish, encourage, and sustain us. Other times, when we are weary, worn out, and surrounded by weeds, resurrection and new life springs up from the dead places of our lives.
Dear Friends, never doubt the goodness of God. And even if you do, be on the lookout for signs of blooming life all around!
Living Easter Life, each and every day, all year long!
