On Sunday, we heard how Ruth and Naomi were loyal and faithful friends even though their backgrounds and faith were very different. As I prepared last week’s sermon and then led worship, including the prayer of the day and sang the hymns, I sat absolutely awestruck by the Holy Spirit. All of those things were selected and prepared in late August. Yet, the Holy Spirit had the foresight and knew we would need those words and that message as we see all that is going on in our country and world.
As the world continues on its path of rebellion against God and continuing to isolate us from one another, don’t think that we are immune to any of this. We are sinners just like the rest of the world. As those who have been loved by Christ, please continue to be people of prayer and agents of peace. May we—the people of Holy Cross—be a beacon of light and reconciliation and peace to our neighbors and the whole world!
Blessings on your week,
Pastor Culynn
