After a brief hiatus from our Summer Series to celebrate the national holiday and pray for the nation, on Sunday we return to our Summer Series: Grace…On Purpose. Up to this point, Saint Paul has been reminding us of the divine and cosmic plan of salvation at work through Jesus Christ. He emphasized that all this was God’s plan and gift to the world. There is nothing we can do to earn it. It is available to all, breaking down the worldly barriers we erect and transforms our fellowship with forgiveness and love. My summer prayer is that we will be gripped by this grace and that our church will be defined by God’s forgiveness and loving service to one another and the world around us.
