Heavenly Father, you provide all that we need in this life: food and clothing,
home and family, meaningful work and property, good government and
seasonable weather. Remind us of your goodness and teach us to trust
in you for daily bread and all good gifts. Remind us your Son, who threw off
his divinity to become human. Never let us lose sight of his humility and his
willingness to suffer, to be stripped naked on the cross to save us from
our sin. Whether we are dressed in an ugly sweater, cozy pajamas, or
Christmas dress, may we never forget that we have received the robes of
righteousness and the garments of salvation and praise from your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
